+ Experience
Prior to working in health and psychology, Nereda spent 15 years in senior corporate roles before transitioning to nutrition and behaviour change. She has since worked with individuals and families to support sustainable changes in health and wellbeing. This diverse professional background has shaped her practical and collaborative approach and her interest in understanding the factors that influence how people think, feel and behave in their everyday lives.
Nereda enjoys working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, emotional difficulties and challenges associated with life transitions. She has a particular interest in emotional regulation, eating behaviour and body image, chronic parental stress, as well as women's mental health during major life transitions. Her work in this area is also informed by lived experience of navigating the challenges associated with motherhood, midlife and later recognition of neurodivergence.
Nereda works primarily from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework and brings warmth, curiosity and practicality to her work. She believes therapy should be a place where people feel heard and understood but also leave with a better understanding of themselves and what might help. Nereda works alongside her clients to make sense of what is happening for them and find practical ways forward that fit with their lives. She believes that meaningful change extends beyond the therapy room and encourages clients to actively practise and apply what they learn between sessions.
Nereda's background in nutrition also provides her with a broader understanding of the relationship between psychological wellbeing, nutrition and overall health.
